Daniel Balmisse

Daniel is a Managing Partner of Cathay InnoSquare (Fund of Funds), based in Paris. Before joining Cathay in August 2016, he served as Executive Director and member of the Executive Committee of Bpifrance, where he led the fund of funds business.

In 2005, Daniel joined CDC Entreprises as Deputy CEO for venture capital fund of funds activities, later expanding his remit to include expansion capital and regional funds. Over that time, he built an integrated fund of funds platform spanning more than 300 funds and €5B in assets under management.

His career in private equity began in 1997 at the Caisse des Dépôts, where he focused on venture capital investments in IT and telecommunications. He went on to serve as Member of the Management Board and COO of CDC Ixis Innovation from 2002.
Daniel started his professional career in 1988 in the telecommunications industry, holding engineering and management roles at SITA and France Télécom. He holds a degree from Supélec.
