Jinghong YU (James)

James is a Vice President at Cathay Smart Energy, based in Shanghai, where he focuses on screening, evaluating, executing, and managing investments across the fund.

Before joining Cathay in 2020, he spent three years as an Associate on Macquarie Capital’s principal investment team in Shanghai, focused on equity investments in clean energy infrastructure and technology. Prior to that, he spent two years on Macquarie Capital’s investment banking team in Hong Kong, advising on cross-border M&A transactions and Hong Kong IPO sponsor work.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance and accounting, from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.
