Marguerite de Tavernost

Marguerite is an Investment Director at Cathay Innovation, based in Paris, where she focuses on Web3 investments through the Cathay Ledger fund. Before joining Cathay in 2022, she spent four years at Berlin-based VC firms Headline and Cherry Ventures, investing in early-stage startups across Germany, France, and the UK.

Earlier in her career, she was a digital transformation consultant at Founders Intelligence, advising CEOs and CDOs on innovation strategy for clients including Fannie Mae, L’Oréal, and Unilever. She also served as an independent board member at Artefact, a publicly listed French digital transformation and marketing consultancy.

Marguerite developed a hands-on expertise in Web3 through an unlikely path — working as a professional photographer and launching an NFT collection — before bringing that firsthand knowledge to Cathay.

She holds a BA in International Studies from King’s College London and an MSc in International Business & Management (CEMS) from the London School of Economics (LSE).
