Zhao Wang

Zhao is Risk & Compliance Officer at Cathay Capital in Shanghai, overseeing legal compliance for new investments and monitoring portfolio operations to ensure regulatory alignment. She joined the firm in 2025, bringing nearly ten years of experience in private equity and venture capital legal risk management.

Previously, Zhao served as Legal Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel at PE/VC firms, advising on over 50 investments and establishing sound legal frameworks for cross-border deals. She is admitted to practice law in both New York and China. Zhao combines her legal expertise with a strong interest in innovation and responsible investing, particularly in green energy and AI.

She holds a master’s degree in Business and Finance Law from George Washington University, a master’s in Law from Northwest University of Political Science and Law, and a Bachelor’s in Law from East China University of Political Science and Law. Outside of work, she balances her days with sports and a love for discovering new music.
